Worthing Greens are on track to make history with a second Green councillor on Worthing Borough Council at the 2 May local elections.
Last year Goring residents voted overwhelmingly to elect Green candidate Claire Hunt as the first Green councillor in Goring. This year, local Green candidate Ian Davey is on track to win votes in Goring from disillusioned Conservative voters let down by the national party’s appalling mismanagement and struck by Ian’s determination to protect the sea, green spaces and local interests.
Labour voters are saying they’ll vote Green this time too, and many Lib Dems are supporting Ian also. The word on the doorstep is that Green candidate Ian has a real chance of winning on Thursday 2nd May.
Ian says, “Residents tell me they are impressed with how hard Goring’s Green Cllr Claire Hunt has worked for Goring since she was elected last year. Claire has proved that Greens offer a real, reliable and credible alternative to the main parties locally. That's why many traditional Conservative voters are telling me they will Vote Green this year again. Voters who usually vote Labour are saying they will switch to Green this time too, because they can see Labour aren’t campaigning in Goring for these local elections and know they can’t win here.”
